Static-X Delay New Album, Add More Tour Dates
Barring the miraculous appearance of a three-legged puppy with cancer watching Beaches, this will undoubtedly be the saddest thing you see today:
In related news, Static-X have announced the delay of their new album, Project Regeneration, which I don’t think had a release date yet anyway but whatever now it’s gonna take longer. In a lengthy statement released by the band as a photograph so all of us in the media have to post the entire thing and can’t just cut and paste it into the text of our stories, the group reveals that they recently found some more previously-unreleased tracks featuring late frontman Wayne Static, who passed away in 2014. As a result, Project Regeneration “will now have fewer guest vocalists and more complete songs featuring lead vocals by Wayne Static.” But it will also take longer to complete.
Here’s the long version:
The silver lining for Static-X fans is that the band has also expanded their upcoming reunion tour, on which they’ll be fronted by Xer0, a mystery singer (rumored to be Dope’s Edsel Dope) who will be dressed like Wayne, which will not be creepy at all.
Here are ALL of Static X’s upcoming live dates (via The PRP)… the new ones are the ones in November down at the bottom:
