Video: Randy Blythe Performs “Backbone” Live with Gojira

Fun fact about which I’d completely forgotten until now: Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe lent guest vocals to “Adoration for None” off of Gojira’s 2008 record The Way of All Flesh.

Fun fact #2: with both bands scheduled to perform, Blythe joined Gojira on stage at this past weekend’s Sonic Temple Festival.

Fun fact #3: Gojira + Blythe performed a different song entirely!

Watch some fan-filmed footage below as Blythe does his patented stage hop and bellows out the vocal parts for “Backbone” from Gojira’s breakout 2005 album From Mars to Sirius. Naturally, the crowd goes apeshit as soon as Randy becomes visible on stage.

A couple of songs later, guitarist Christian Andreu would get scorched directly in the face by a blast of pyro blown astray by a wind gust. After taking a quick break, he heroically returned to finish the set.
