High on Fire Played Two Shows with a Fill-In Drummer

0

High on Fire played a pair of shows at The Tonic Lounge in Portland, OR the past two nights (May 14th and 15th), both of which took place without drummer and founding member Des Kensel.

Fan-filmed footage from both nights shows Gaytheist drummer Nick Parks sitting in. Neither Kensel or High on Fire have commented on the matter, and a representative for the band had no further information for MetalSucks. It’s worth pointing out that these two shows are not part of a larger tour, so it’s possible Kensel simply had a conflict and couldn’t make it. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.

High on Fire frontman Matt Pike had to cancel several shows earlier this year after having part of his big toe removed from complications due to diabetes, although it would seem he’s now on the mend. Perhaps that Best Metal Performance Grammy win boosted his spirits.
