Watch: Corey Taylor Performs Poison’s “Nothin’ But a Good Time”
Corey Taylor has been playing a few gigs with his “& Friends” getup of late. The group consists of Corey, guitarist Zach Throne (Bruce Kulick), bassist Jason Christopher (one of Corey’s longtime best friends, who has appeared live with him at other events as well), a rotating drummer and some special guests playing sets of rock and metal covers — no Slipknot or Stone Sour tunes. Seems like an outlet for Corey to have a little fun in small venues before the Slipknot touring cycle kicks off and runs for literal years.
Corey Taylor & Friends performed this past Sunday night, April 28th, at the Q Casino in Dubuque, IA (his home state, of course), and the set included a cover of Poison’s “Nothin’ But a Good Time,” cell phone footage of which has been making the rounds. But that’s not all: Bret Michaels was in attendance, and the Poison singer couldn’t resist the temptation to film the performance and post it as well. You can watch both clips below. Special props to Throne for nailing C.C. Deville’s solo.
