Mötley Crüe: Nikki Sixx Denies “Washed-Up” Jake E. Lee’s “Make Believe Story” About Firing Mick Mars
Nikki Sixx has called “bullshit” on Jake E. Lee’s recent claim that at one point Mötley Crüe wanted to fire Mick Mars and hire Lee in his stead.
Not-so-clandestinely referring to Lee’s story on Twitter, Sixx said:
“Isn’t it funny how the has been’s, never was’s, washed up long ago small career people all started coming outta the woodwork around the movie? I guess it’s their only way to get attention in 2019. God bless them. They must be desperate.”
Then, after a fan commented that firing Mars “would have been the worst mistake,” Sixx replied:
“Make believe story. Everybody wants piece of the Crüe now. Believe me. Almost 40 years together. We know our story way more than some shadowy worms.”
We obviously have no way of knowing who’s telling the truth, but Lee certainly comes off as the loser here. Having asserted that the Crüe “wouldn’t have been as big with me” but “Musically, they might have been better,” he comes off as egotistical at best and bitter at worst. But hey at least he reminded the world he’s still alive I guess.
