Report: AC/DC Planning Tour with Brian Johnson
With Brian Johnson tacitly confirming he’s back in AC/DC earlier this year — after photos of him in the studio with the band surfaced last summer — an eventual tour with the reunited lineup seemed like an inevitability. Now metal radio personality Eddie Trunk is reporting that he has it from a “reliable source” that the band is planning a tour with Johnson, who stepped down in 2016 due to hearing loss.
Trunk also said that the next AC/DC album will be a tribute to guitarist Malcolm Young, who died in 2017. It had previously been reported that the album will feature some of Malcolm’s recordings, as well as Cliff Williams back on bass (Williams “retired” in 2016).
It’s worth noting that as one point “reliable sources” reported that AC/DC would continue to record and tour with Axl Rose… so take all this stuff with a grain of salt until it actually happens.
