The Sweet Things Deliver Bluesy Rock n’ Roll Swagger on “Dead or Worse”
The Sweet Things offer a straight shot back to a time when it was the norm to wake up in a pile of cocaine and women, and their newest single, “Dead or Worse,” is a display of piping hot country-fried swagger that’s reminiscent of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s blues rock with a side of straight up debauchery. The track is a cautionary tale born from blackout nights, getting hogtied and thrown out of bars for spiking shot glasses at walls, and vomiting in your girlfriend’s panty drawer. Word to the wise, stay away from the expensive Victoria’s Secret underwear or you’ll get your head slashed.
Aside from Skynyrd, if you’re a fan of classic rock like The Rolling Stones or early Aerosmith, The Sweet Things are for you. They cover much of the same ground by incorporating deep blues guitar solos and country-esque vocals that take us back to the roots and glory of rock n’ roll. Their upcoming album enlists help from an impressive line-up including The Uptown Horns (Rolling Stones, James Brown) and The Black Crowes’ keyboard player Rob Clores.
Stay tuned for the release of In Borrowed Shoes, On Borrowed Time, is set for release on March 24 via Wendigo Productions. In the meantime, get your fill of some dirty trash rock by streaming their latest single below.
