Video: Sid Wilson Releases Slipknot Studio Update
There are two important takeaways from this video studio update provided by Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson:
- Today is not his birthday, despite what “Wee-kee” may say.
- He is currently “laying the last of my parts [for the new Slipknot album] down.”

Although I’m tempted to spend the next several paragraphs discussing the way Wilson pronounces the word “Wiki,” most Maggots will probably be far more interested in the second piece of information. I have to assume that Wilson is on the tail end of any Slipknot recording schedule, because his work is decorative, not foundational. This being the case, I also have to assume that the band is almost done recording. Which makes sense, ’cause the album is supposed to be out in August.
August 9, to be precise! Just two weeks after they kick off their big summer tour with Volbeat, Gojira, and Behemoth. We still don’t know what the album is called, but we do know this: Chris Fehn won’t be on it.
