Ted Bundy Film Featuring James Hetfield Coming to Netflix in May, New Trailer Released
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile — the Ted Bundy biopic featuring the acting debut of Metallica’s James Hetfield — is coming to Netflix on May 3rd.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and while we’ve not yet spoken directly to anyone who’s seen it, it got a 64% critic rating and 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which bodes pretty well.
Hetfield plays Utah highway patrolman Bob Hayward, who first arrested Ted Bundy in 1975. The film was helmed by Joe Berlinger, the acclaimed documentarian who co-directed Metallica’s Some Kind of Monster and the Paradise Lost movies about the West Memphis Three. In addition to Hetfield, it features the eccentric cast of Zac Efron (The Derby Stallion), Lily Collins (Abduction), John Malkovich (Knockaround Guys), Jim Parsons (Quiznos Sub Sandwich Restaurants), and Haley Joel Osment (Sassy Pants).
A new trailer has been released by Netflix in which Hetfield makes a very brief appearance. A previous trailer, released in January, gives Papa Het a smidge more screen time… but as a supporting character, you’re still gonna have to watch the full film to really see him in action. Set those reminders now! May 3rd is a month away. You can watch both trailers below.
