Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson Seek Fan Suggestions for Their Next Cover Song
Did you enjoy Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson’s cover of The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” last year? No? Well, tough shit: you’re getting another cover collaboration between the duo.
Zombie made the announcement on social media, where he also solicited fan suggestions as to which song he and Manson ought to next do a mediocre job of mimicking:
“We did ‘Helter Skelter.’ We are looking for some good ideas for another possible collaboration. I know I will get lots of goofy responses but I am seriously looking for a good idea.”
Scrolling through the comments beneath Zombie’s post, I can see a number of good suggestions. Most notably, Nikki Sixx requests that the two do Mötley Crüe’s “Shout at the Devil,” which seems kinda on the nose. The most popular suggestion seems to be “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult.
My favorite suggestion, though, is Alice Cooper’s “Feed My Frankenstein.” Also on the nose? Yes. But SO much less covered than “Shout at the Devil” and “Don’t Fear the Reaper.” I mean, the “Helter Skelter” cover was already the ten-thousandth reinterpretation of that song. Pick something more original this time, you knuckleheads!

Just as “Helter Skelter” was meant to promote the shock rockers’ summer 2018 tour, so this next act of barbarity will be used to promote their summer 2019 tour. Dates are here.
