Video: Demi Lovato Jams Out to Metal in the Car
That pop star Demi Lovato is a metalhead isn’t news — she’s been vocal about it since at least 2009, at the time professing her love for Job For a Cowboy, Abigail Williams and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. But it’s still neat to see Lovato, whose popularity has skyrocketed since then, stay true to her passions and share them with her sizable Instagram following, which is some 71 million strong (!!!).
To that end, Demi posted some footage yesterday from a car ride in which she’s rocking out to He Is Legend (and screaming along!), The Devil Wears Prada, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and Bring Me the Horizon. Sure, you could be a dick and be all like “aaccccckkkshuually that’s not true metal, hyuck hyuck” or you could concede it’s pretty damn cool that a pop star at her level is a genuine fan of heavy music at all, and that even if just 0.1% of her fanbase connects with it and decides to come over to the dark side that’s still 71,000 fucking people! I will say, though, that we need to find a way to get Demi some new stuff — all that music’s very 2009, gotta keep current!
Demi’s rock out sesh is currently posted on her Instagram Stories feed so you’ll need to get there by approximately 2pm EDT before it vanishes. But if you’ve missed it, you can watch at least the He is Legend portion via Lambgoat’s Twitter below.
