Report: The Prodigy’s Keith Flint Died of Hanging
The BBC is reporting that The Prodigy vocalist Keith Flint died of hanging.
News broke last Monday (March 4th) that Flint had been found dead in his Sussex apartment over the weekend, with the band soon after confirming via social media that the cause of death was suicide without providing any further details. All of the band’s upcoming shows were subsequently canceled.
The cause of Flint’s death as hanging was revealed at an inquest, defined in the United Kingdom as an official court hearing “to find out who the deceased person was and how, when and where they died and to provide the details needed for their death to be registered.” A toxicology report was also ordered, but a full hearing was adjourned until July 23rd so we may not have those results for some time.
Flint joins Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington as recent high profile musicians in the heavy music community who tragically took their own lives by hanging.
Rock and metal musicians from around the world have been paying tribute to Flint since his death was revealed last week.
