Ringworm Announce New Album Death Becomes My Voice, Share Title Track
I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this before, but… do you think Ringworm chose their name in order to piss off their home city of Cleveland? This band has been around for thirty years. During that time period, how often do you think journalists have used the phrase “Cleveland’s Ringworm,” “Ringworm from Cleveland,” or some variation thereof? Ohio’s Tourism Board can’t be too thrilled about that.
Of course, I don’t actually know if Ringworm feel hostility towards Cleveland — if they hated it so much, I assume they’d leave — but they clearly feel hostility towards something. The title track for their new album, Death Becomes My Voice, isn’t as irate as anything the band has ever recorded. Maybe they just have ringworms. That would make me cranky, too.
Listen to “Death Becomes My Voice” the song below. Death Becomes My Voice the album is out May 3 on Relapse, and is apparently not about Phil Labonte’s live performances, which is too bad. In any case, you can pre-order it here.
