Bad Religion Announce New Album Age of Unreason; Release Single “Chaos from Within”
We’re living in a crazy time. We have a demented Dorito for president. Colin Kaepernick’s peaceful protest is grounds for termination from the NFL. The ice caps are melting, and global warming is disregarded as opinion. With so many social issues at the forefront of the world’s consciousness, it’s only natural that Bad Religion come out of the woodwork again to release a new album fir the punk masses that throws us all into a fit rebellion.
Their newest single, “Chaos From Within” examines the current border wall controversy. Co-songwriter and lead singer Greg Graffin says, “Throughout history, walls have been used to keep the barbarians out, but it seems to me the truly barbaric aspect of a civilization is the chaos that comes from within.” The track serves as only a taste of what we can expect from Bad Religion’s 17th studio album, which pays homage to the literary and philosophical works that have long inspired the band, such as early greek tragedies and existentialism. The front cover of the album features a beheaded Julius Cesar, which I can only interpret to mean one thing: ANARCHY IN THE USA!
Before you press play below, grab your vest and combat boots and throw your triumphant fist into the air in rebellion against society, then rage to the band that helped shape what punk rock is today. Mohawk is optional but appreciated.
Bad Religion’s new album, Age of Unreason, will be released on May 3 via Epitaph Records, and can be pre-ordered here.
