Ozzy Osbourne Hospitalized Again

The Prince of Darkness is not well. What started as a “very bad case” of the flu last week led to the cancelation of four U.K. shows, and only a couple of days later he decided to pull the entire U.K. / European tour down. This after that nasty staph infection caused the cancelation of several U.S. dates last year. And, you know, just general old age (Ozzy is 70 now) combined with a lifetime of body abuse.

Now The Blast is reporting that Ozzy has been admitted to a hospital for symptoms that continue to worsen after more than a week with the flu. His wife and manager Sharon Osbourne shared the news on Twitter earlier today:

“As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”

The Blast reports that Ozzy checked into Keck Hospital of USC on Monday accompanied by Sharon, their son Jack and a security detail. Sharon left the hospital then returned a short while later with a blanket and a suitcase which would seem to indicate she plans to stay the night, and indeed she missed her scheduled appearance this afternoon on TV show The Talk. I’m honestly quite touched by that gesture — even with all the resources the Osbournes have, and at their age, she’s still staying by her husband’s side for the long haul.
