Misery Index Debut New Song “The Choir Invisible”

You don’t need anyone to tell you that Misery Index’s new song, “The Choir Invisible,” will fuck you up 666 ways to Sunday. It’s Misery Index. Of course the song will ride you hard and put you away wasted.

What you might need someone to tell you is what the heck the song’s title means! The term originated in an 1897 poem by George Eliot, and it… well, here, I’ll just let the band explain:

“‘The ‘Choir Invisible’ is a euphemism for the dead, or those who have passed on. In the context of this song, it is an anthem of the dispossessed and the hopeless. Many across the world exist in an ‘in-between’ state that is often ignored and/or washed over because they lack the power and voice to plead their case as human beings. The song takes up this theme and tells it from the somber view of those who risk their lives, board ships and cross oceans in order to find a better life.”

The choir may be invisible, but the song is definitely audible. Listen below. The track will appear on Misery Index’s new album, Rituals of Power, which comes out March 8.
