Warbeast’s Bruce Corbitt is Now in Hospice Care
For a moment last summer it seemed as if Warbeast frontman Bruce Corbitt was going to pull off a miracle.
After announcing he had cancer of the esophagus in May of 2017, initial treatments did not go well. But Corbitt was accepted into a clinical trial for a new kind of treatment in early 2018, and as of June of last year he announced that he was responding very well to it and that the cancer in many parts of his body had been eliminated. Corbitt even performed live with Warbeast in July, something he never imagined would be possible after his official farewell performance with the band back in May of the previous year.
Unfortunately the new treatment didn’t stick, or wasn’t as effective as initially thought: Corbitt has revealed in his latest update that he is currently in hospice care. As you can see in the video below, an emotional Corbitt reveals that he’s currently in hospice waiting out his final days, on a 24-hour morphine drip to manage debilitating pain and using his remaining time to finish writing as much of his book as possible. Despite all that, he’s “still fighting,” and doesn’t come off as dejected. His goal is to have 100 hard copies of his book made, the proceeds of which will go towards covering the costs of his memorial.
Those wishing to donate to help cover medical and end-of-life expenses can do so here. Hang in there, Bruce.
