Megadeth Announce New Greatest Hits Collection, Warheads on Foreheads
On Monday, Megadeth teased a big announcement for today, Friday, January 11.
Welp, they have now made that announcement, and boy oh boy, is it ever anti-climactic.
The band will release a new greatest hits collection, Warheads on Foreheads, on March 22.
The collection will include 35 songs, but we dunno which songs those are.
Look, a greatest hits collection in 2019, when everyone can stream anything, is already kind of a silly idea. And it doesn’t seem like there’s gonna be anything on Warheads that Megadeth fans don’t already have.
But even if we ignore that fact, this is, by my count, Megadeth’s fifth greatest hits albums, after 2000’s, Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years, 2008’s Anthology: Set the World Afire, 2013’s Icon, and, of course, 2005’s Greatest Hits. And that’s not even counting the Megadeth box set, Warchest, which was released in 2007.
What I’m saying is, unless you’re a hardcore Megadeth completist, no reason has, as of this writing, been provided as to why you might purchase this thing.
But hey it’s your money.
