Politician Danica Roem is Running Daily Metal Trivia on Twitter Throughout January
Virginia House Delegrate Danica Roem — also the vocalist for the metal band Cab Ride Home — is keeping the metal running through her veins despite her daily duty as a politician.
Roem is using her Twitter account, which has nearly 79,000 followers, to run a little bit of metal trivia throughout the month of January, with one new tidbit posted each morning:
Hey #MetalTwitter: In honor of an entire month of 1.19, I'm giving y'all a daily Easter egg in the profile under my photo. See if you know the metal reference each day without looking it up.
(Side note: I've spent the last two hours reviewing 14 bills, so, yeah… we're good.)— Sen. Danica Roem (@pwcdanica) January 1, 2019
Each day’s clues have been posted with a little hint left in Danica’s Twitter bio, and so far have included references to Metallica, At the Gates, Lacuna Coil and others. For today’s hint, “Noch ein bier,” I caved and Googled since I didn’t know the reference off hand. Turns out it’s a lyric from a Sabaton song, which you can crank below!
Lest you worry Danica is slacking on the job while using taxpayer dollars to fund these trivia endeavors, think again: if her claim above that she just reviewed 14 bills isn’t enough for you, follow her on Twitter to keep up with what she’s been working on for the people of Virginia.
Roem made history in November of 2017 by becoming Virginia’s first openly transgender elected official and America’s first openly transgender elected state official.
