The Warped Tour is Coming Back in 2019
When Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman announced last year that 2018 would be the long-running festival tour’s final year, he left open the possibility of a more limited engagement Warped event in the future. And, judging from a tweet Lyman himself sent out earlier today, it seems as if a handful of one-off Warped dates are in the cards for 2019. Here’s his tweet (edited slightly for clarity):
“Plans are coming together for @VansWarpedTour 25th
“only thing I can say for now since many need to hold vacations
“dates are June 8 Cleveland, June 29-30 eastcoast, July 20-21 westcoast.”
The inclusion of Cleveland is a bit odd since it’s not a coast, nor is it really a major market, but it’s been the host of the Alt Press Awards for a number of years running, an audience with which Warped traditionally has a ton of crossover. Including the East Coast (likely New York, or near it) and the West Coast (likely L.A. or the Bay Area) is self-explanatory.
We’ll keep you posted as further details emerge including the lineups, which could differ from date to date. With Warped celebrating its 25th anniversary it’s likely we’ll see some alumni join the party.
