In Flames Release Not One but TWO New Songs, “I Am Above” and “(This Is Our) House”
In 2016, In Flames teased a new single, and the tease sounded promising, but then the results were mediocre.
In 2018, In Flames AGAIN teased a new single, and AGAIN the tease sounded promising, and AGAIN the results were mediocre.
Character is destiny. Past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Lesson learned. I will never get excited about new In Flames music based solely on a teaser again.
Interestingly, both of these new songs, “I Am Above” and “(This Is Our) House,” have similar issues — cool riffs, forgettable choruses. So at least their hearts were in the right place?
Both tracks will appear on In Flames’ new album, I, the Mask, which comes out March 1, and which I am praying is a concept album based on this movie or, better yet, this one.
In Flames will also hit the road in February for a tour with All That Remains and All Hail the Yeti. Dates are below:
