Listen to Whitechapel’s New Song, “Black Bear”
I’m just gonna come right out and say it, even though I know it’s gonna lead to an above-average amount of hate mail: “Black Bear,” the new song from Whitechapel, highlights nu-metal’s influence on deathcore. Sure, frontman Phil Bozeman still sounds like the Cookie Monster fighting a bad bout on Montezuma’s Revenge, but musically, this thing is is one pair of JNCOs away from being Return of the Rock-ready.
Guys, I’m not evening saying this is a bad thing. I’m just pointing it out. Try not to get your ear gauges in a twist.
You can check out “Black Bear” below. Then head to the comments section to yell at me ant tell me how I don’t know what I’m talking about.
“Black Bear” will appear on The Valley, which will come out March 29 on Metal Blade. It features drums by Navene Koperweis, currently of Entheos and formerly of Animals as Leaders. You can pre-order it here.
