Video: Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” Covered by Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt, and Tosin Abasi
The world has fallen in love with Queen all over again as a result of the success of the recent Freddy Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. The movie itself is pure drek, its shit script likely rendered all the more noticeable by the flick’s widely publicized behind-the-scenes director drama, but I’m actually okay with it making oodles of money of it means a whole new generation of Queen fans.
ANYWAY, the currently-in-progress Generation Axe tour, which features Steve Vai (David Lee Roth), Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne), Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders), Yngwie Malmsteen (the fucking fury), and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), recently seized on Queenmania 2018 by covering “Bohemian Rhapsody” as an all-star instrumental jam. It’s pretty rad, despite a distinct lack of Zakk Wylde guitar squeals during the aggro part.
Enjoy fan-filmed video below. Generation Axe tour dates are here.
