Exclusive Song + Video Premiere: For I Am King’s “Devotion”
Could the title of For I Am King’s “Devotion” be any more appropriate? Because that just so happens to be the exact emotion the song will inspire. Taken from their forthcoming sophomore LP, I, “Devotion” demonstrates a mastery of modern melodeath that’s sure to win over fans of bands like At the Gates, Arch Enemy, and Darkest Hour.
And honestly, that would’ve been enough to get us to debut the track… but as a bonus, “Devotion” has a sweet-ass video to go along with it, intercutting grimy performance footage of the band with a brightly-lit interpretative modern dance. The contrast may sound odd, but it’s actually quite perfect for this band: For Am I King mix the old and new, the ugly and the beautiful, the high and the low.
