Five Finger Death Punch’s New Drummer is Scale the Summit’s Charlie Engen
Five Finger Death Punch made headlines a couple weeks back not for the usual emotional merry-go-round of frontman Ivan Moody’s erratic behavior, but when it was announced that drummer Jeremy Spencer would be sitting out the band’s European tour as a result of recent back surgery. In his place would be an alleged young drum prodigy named “The Engine” about whom nothing was known.
We’ve just learned via The PRP that “The Engine” is actually Charlie Engen (get it?) who has been behind the kit for Scale the Summit since 2016 and played on their most recent album In A World Of Fear. Engen’s Instagram bio currently reads “On tour with Five Finger Death Punch” (screen cap below in case he changes it) while some drum videos he’s posted there allude to him currently being on tour and a “big show tonight at a location I won’t disclose.”
Sweet gig for Engen, eh? The money’s gotta be decent and the material not-at-all difficult to learn, so may as well take that payday and run. I don’t blame him for trying to keep it quiet! Congrats, dude.
