King 810 Are the Worst Thing to Happen to “Braveheart” Since Mel Gibson
Nevermind that Braveheart and Star Wars contain roughly the same amount of historical facts about the Scottish rebel William Wallace; Braveheart was a fun movie. Was. Then Mel Gibson turned out to be a grade-A asshole and now it’s hard to watch the movie without seeing all the subtext of his particular worldview, which values physical pain as the ultimate symbol of true devotion and has nothing nice to say about minorities or people who worship a different God from Gibson’s own.
But just in case Braveheart‘s legacy wasn’t already 100% fucked, King 810 have now released a new song that also shares a title with the movie. I don’t think it has anything to do with the flick, though. I don’t remember William Wallace ever using a glock like the one referenced here. It does quote the exquisite poetry of Todd Jones, though, so there’s that.
