Ex-Threatin Drummer Dane Davis Breaks Silence with Video Message
Threatin touring members Joe Prunera and Dane Davis quit the band mid-tour on Friday after learning the entire thing was a huge con at the same time the entire world did. Prunera is now back home in Las Vegas, NV while Davis is staying with family in Belfast so he can use his original plane ticket home, scheduled for the end of the tour. Bassist Gavin Carney, without the necessary funds to purchase a new ticket and without the good fortune of family in the area, has chosen to stick it out with Jered to use his originally purchased plane ticket as well.
MetalSucks will have more details on all fronts later today in an exclusive, all-encompassing, very detailed report.
In the meantime, Davis has issued a video message via Facebook. Davis devoted much of his message to thanking people — everyone who’s reached out with concern and support, the accommodating venue staff, the opening bands — and also offered the following words on the experience:
“None of this should have happened. I just wanted first and foremost to let everyone know that Joe and Gavin and I had no idea. We were blindsided by everything that came up on Friday. Joe and Gavin are great people, very talented musicians. It’s shocking and we’re trying to wrap our heads around what happened.”
He later added:
“I know that there’s a lot of questions right now. I myself have questions. Honestly, it’s such a surreal, strange thing that has happened with this tour.”
Davis closed by saying there will be more updates soon, and once again thanked everyone for their concern and support. You can watch his video message below.
Meanwhile, Jered Threatin himself has reactivated some of his / the band’s social media accounts (but still no Facebook). In a post shared on both Instagram and Twitter, he promised that a statement will be coming tomorrow, seemingly poking fun at himself:
Jered Threatin to make “fake” official statement tomorrow :)
