New Dream Theater Album Coming in February 2019

We’ve been doing MetalSucks a long time now (almost 12 years) and nothing seems to get you all excited like the nebulous promise of something in the future. It’s all downhill from here, but for now hope is in the air! Enjoy it while you can.

To that end, Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess spilled the beans in a recent interview with Metal Wani that the band’s next album — which was recorded over the summer — will come out in February, with a Rudess solo album to follow shortly thereafter:

“My next solo album will come out in April. It’s not a piano album at all, it’s a rock album. The new Dream Theater album is coming out in late February. Right now, we’re mixing it. It’s being mixed as we speak. It sounds awesome. I’m so excited about it. There’s a very, very strong energy around the band these days. We all feel very connected and excited about what’s coming. We can’t wait to unleash the whole thing on everybody. And that’s all gonna happen really, really soon as well; it’s just right around the corner.”

Something to look forward to during the doldrums of winter. Whether it delivers all you hope to get out of it? That’s anyone’s guess.
