Trivium’s Matt Heafy Forced to Sit Out Remainder of Current Tour
Normally when a prominent musician is forced to sit out all or a portion of a tour, we file the story under “This Sucks,” because it generally means something has gone wrong (e.g., a family member has died). But the news is actually bittersweet — Trivium’s Matt Heafy has had to leave the band’s current tour with Light the Torch and Avatar because his wife is due to give birth to twins any second now.
And while going to see Trivium without Matt Heafy might seem a little like trying to swim in a pool with no water, fans who opt not to skip the show are in for a once-in-a-lifetime treat, as guest vocals will be provided by Light the Torch’s Howard Jones, Avatar’s Johannes Eckerström, and YouTube supah-stah Jared Dines, who seems to have been performing with Trivium a lot recently.
Matt’s statement on the matter is below. Remaining dates for this tour can be found here.
