Randy Blythe Slams Donald Trump’s “Highly Sociopathic Behavior,” Discusses the Travails of Touring Russia in the Current Political Climate
Well, here’s some surprising news. Almost two years into his presidency, Donald Trump has won over at least one left-leaning former critic — Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe!
I am, of course, completely kidding. Blythe, like every rational human being on the left and the right, still thinks Trump is a putz.
From a new interview with Metal Hammer:
“You couldn’t dream up what we’re reading right now. It’s like, porn and Russia and backstabbing lawyers and trust-fund kids gone wrong. Trump’s style is calculated. Some people are like, ‘He’s just a madman,’ but when something weird happens that comes close to nailing his ass, he suddenly throws something else. It’s strange, calculated and highly sociopathic behavior.”
Randy’s observation, though accurate, is not exactly fresh. So the more interesting part of the interview actually ends up being when he discusses what it’s like to tour outside the U.S. in the Trump era:
“It’s brutal. When you show up with an American passport, they laugh at you going through customs, and in Moscow they had t-shirts that had an illustration of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin walking Trump on a leash, like a dog.
“We were touring overseas before Trump got elected and people were constantly asking, ‘What are you going to do if he gets elected?’ Everybody was like, ‘That’s not going to happen,’ and oh, how wrong we were.”
Putin walking Trump on a leash, like a dog! It’s funny because it’s true. I mean, not for those of us who live in the United States. But for everyone else… what a laff riot!
