Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats Unveil Dark, Sinister New Track “Shockwave City”
Is it just me, or is “Shockwave City” the hardest rocking tune Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats have put out to date? I’m certainly no expert on the band so I could be off base here, but their latest single has a dark, sinister vibe with some extra meaty riffs that I can’t ever remember hearing from these Brits before. Our own Emperor Rhombus really nailed it with their previous single, “Stranger Tonight,” noting the air of “1970s Times Square-style sexual deviancy” the track elicited, but this one brings way more of that old-school grit to the picture. It is indeed deviant and, dare I say, even scary. If four-year-old Vince had been walking through the hellscape this track conjures I definitely would’ve been clutching my mom’s hand extra tight.
