Havok guitarists David Sanchez and Reece Scruggs are spr srs when it comes to riffing. Despite thrash’s 35+ years in existence the duo continues to find ways to keep things interesting and fresh, so it’s no surprise that Havok are one of only a handful of bands left standing from the neo-thrash explosion of the late ’00s.

Conquering their parts on guitar is no easy feat, so we sat Sanchez and Scruggs down in front of a YouTube playlist loaded with fan covers of Havok songs before the band’s recent headline show at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn to be the ultimate arbiters of internet talent.
