Video: Thou Have a Weirdo Gothic Doom Metal Party In “The Changeling Prince”
Baton Rouge’s Thou are far from your average doom band. They wear facepaint and capes, they add weirdo gothic elements to their music where most other doom bands add weed references, and they do beautiful covers of Crowbar tracks. So yeah, not your typical mid-paced doom crew.
Along those lines, the band has just released a video for their new song “The Changeling Prince”, which depicts a fun doom metal show…if that show was thrown by all the creepiest characters in the David Lynch catalog. You know, it’s just a bunch of folks having a good time, bathed in purple light, beneath a wooden idol of the Virgin Mary, looking as though they’re trying to kill the band with their minds. You know, good friendly fun!
Get weird with “The Changeling Prince” below. Thou’s new album, Magus, drops August 31st via Sacred Bones. Pre-order it here.
