Video: Twiztid Join Senses Fail Onstage For a Nu-Metal Medley At Warped Tour
Want to hear how fucking ancient I am? I remember a time when punk and nu-metal were opposed to one another. I swear to God, this happened. There was a period when fans of Less Than Jake and Rancid saw nu-metal as a bunch of macho posturing by white boys who wanted to rap, and fans of Korn and Slipknot saw pop-punk as an immature attempt to appeal to mainstream teeny boppers. Meanwhile, everyone hated Juggalos.
This changed around the time both genres began making less and less money and realized they had to band together–but still, it happened!
I bring this up because it appears those days are long over, as Senses Fail not only played a medley of nu-metal classics during their set of this year’s final Vans Warped Tour, but they also brought Jamie Madrox of ICP proteges Twiztid onstage with them at Tampa to perform alongside them. This wholesome retro sing-along included SOAD’s “Chop Suey!”, Drowning Pool’s “Bodies”, Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff”, and RATM’s “Bulls On Parade”, leaving no era of everyone’s least favorite metal subgenre unexplored.
Check out the video below, followed by a video of Senses Fail playing the medley solo. For Warped Tour dates, just go…nowhere, ’cause the whole thing’s over now!
