Groundbreaking: Watch Metallica’s “One” Played on One Guitar String

Today’s daily dose of internet garbage is brought to you by Pete Cottrell, the genius behind the egg-ceptional cover of “Symphony of Destruction”, the valiant attempt at making brutal music with a tuned UP guitar, and the cover of Meshuggah’s “Straws Pulled At Random” played with sugary snacks. His latest stunt is a playthrough of Metallica’s “One” — played entirely on a one-string guitar.

TECHNICALLY there’s at times three different tracks of one-string playing, so it’s up to you to decide if that really counts or not. Either way, Cottrell still plays better on one string than I can on six, and he throws in some interesting stylistic choices that put his rendition on par with, if not better than (don’t fire me) the original.
