“Driving Rain”: Slash Debuts First Single from New Album Holy Fucking Goddamn Motherfucking Shit Why Is He Making This Instead of a New Guns N’ Roses Record
Guns N’ Roses’ Slash Featuring Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators Featuring the Conspirators have released “Driving Rain,” the first single from his/their new album, Holy Fucking Goddamn Motherfucking Shit Why Is He Making This Instead of a New Guns N’ Roses Record Living the Dream. Some parts of it are really good! There’s the guitar under line the verses, which sound like a country fried version of the post-chorus in the Slash’s Snakepit song “Mean Bone.” Myles Kennedy sounds terrific as always. And who’s ever gonna turn down a new Slash solo? Nobody, that’s who.
But the chorus is pretty forgettable and, I dunno, ultimately… the song just doesn’t do that much for me. For this stalker fan, at least, this pretty much follows the trend of Slash’s solo albums. I’m so pre-disposed towards liking this shit, and yet, it just doesn’t really “do it” for me. I hope you all disagree, as you so often do.
Living the Dream comes out September 21st via Slash’s own label Snakepit Records in partnership with Roadrunner Records.
