Stoner Rock Trio Dead Now Announce Debut Album
Atlanta rockers Dead Now, consisting of current and former members of Torche, Riddle of Steel, Tilts and Day Old Man, have just announced their self-titled debut through Brutal Panda Records. The trio play an eclectic brew of fuzzy stoner rock that draws heavily on frontman Andrew Elstner’s past work with Torche, with just enough melodic interplay to keep it on the fun side of the spectrum. Elstner commented on the new project:
“Myself, Derek and Bobby couldn’t be more hyped for this. Killer label, amazing people and now we’re desperate to get the jams in front of some faces and just crush. Things came together so quickly, it feels like the Gods are pleased.”
The full album is set to drop on September 7th, but you don’t have to wait that long to see what Dead Now are all about. Check out the first earworm single, “Ritchie Blackmourning,” below — it’s heavy, but not mind-numbingly so, perfect for a backyard BBQ when you wanna have a good time and rock out without giving Aunt Agnes an aneurism. Make sure you crank that shit, and pre-order the record when you’re done! You can also catch Dead Now on tour with Red Fang and Big Business throughout September; dates are beneath the video.
