Get Ready for Murder Falcon, A New Comic Book About Summoning A Kung-Fu Monster With Metal Guitar
Guys, let’s be real here: we all secretly assume a wailing electric guitar can summon monsters, right? Deep down, we know that a sick riff or killer solo can call supernatural beings into existence, whether it’s a laval titan bursting out of the Earth or a swarm of face-eating bats corkscrewing into the air. It’s cool, we’re grown-ups, we can admit this.
Thankfully, there’s Murder Falcon to bring this heavy metal fantasy to life! Written and pencilled by the Eisner-nominated creator of Extremity, and released via the production company of Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Murder Falcon tells the tale of a down-and-out guitarist who uses the power of shredding to summon–what else?–a buff, kung-fu fighting falcon cyborg in cargo pants.
Here’s the official pitch:
The world is under attack, and Jake’s life is falling apart: no band, no girl, no future…until he meets MURDER FALCON.
Sent from The Heavy to destroy all evil, Murder Falcon can’t do it without Jake shredding up a storm. Now, with every chord Jake plays on his guitar, the power of metal fuels Murder Falcon into all-out kung fu fury on those that seek to conquer Earth!
So basically what you have here is every metalhead’s teenage fantasy to such a fevered pitch as would make Sargent D ditch you at the food court.
Check out this video preview below, which is about as cool as any comic book video preview (meaning, eh, it’s all right), and then keep scrolling for sample pages of the actual book (which are really fucking cool). Murder Falcon #1 drops October 10th from Skybound Comics.
