Worship at the Altar of Skeletonwitch’s New Song “Temple of the Sun”
Skeletonwitch really seem to have nailed it on their upcoming new album Devouring Radiant Light, yeah? It took them a little while to dial in their vibe with new vocalist Adam Clemans (also of Wolvhammer), but after only one middling EP (The Apothic Gloom, 2016) I think they’ve got it locked in now. What I’ve heard so far of Devouring Radiant Light has all been excellent.
Here’s “Temple of the Sun,” the latest single from the album, via Revolver. It’s frosty and blackened and it’s thrashy and fierce — Skeletonwitch’s long-running specialties — but it’s also got an extra special something I can’t place that’s new in the post-Chance Garnette era. In other words: it’s great! Some of the band’s best work yet.
Check it out below; listen to previous singles “Fen of Shadows” and “When Paradise Fades” as well. You can pre-order Devouring Radiant Light here before its July 20th release. The band will spend the spring touring with Obituary, Pallbearer, and Dust Bolt. Get dates here.
