Slayer Announce Their First Show of 2019
To everybody’s bewliderment, Slayer will not be riding off into the sunset after the conclusion of their worldwide “Farewell” tour. “But guys, I thought farewell meant goodbye forever!” Well, if Ozzy Osbourne’s track record is of any indication, artists will keep playing if the fans keep showing up.
While Slayer might not be taking up any more official tours anytime soon, they’ll presumably still play shows from time to time and their first one of 2019 will be at Hellfest, taking place from June 21 – 23 in France. The band SWEARS this will be their last performance in the country:
“Next year, in Hellfest, we will be doing our last-ever performance in France. I expect to see you all there. Send us off with shots of beer, some horns, whatever you got.”
After they wrap up the second leg of the North American tour, Slayer will be heading to Europe in the winter. Nothing has yet been announced for the time between the European tour and Hellfest, but there’s been talk of rebooting the massive Clash of the Titans tour: Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, and Testament — even though Dave Mustaine says it’s not gonna happen. Mustaine can blow me, cause Clash of the Titans would be way cooler than the “Big Four” tour he’s been yammering about. Though either way, I wouldn’t complain.
So what do you think? Is this really going to be Slayer’s last hurrah?
