Secret Cutter’s “Oblivion” Will Shake You To the Core

0

Secret Cutter have been carving a groove for themselves in the world of sludge, delivering some of the nastiest, most nauseating grind known to man. Since the release of their self titled debut in 2014, they’ve produced a number of crushing singles with steadfast consistency, proving that they’re not just here to fuck around. The latest track from their upcoming LP, Quantum Eraser, will crumble your entire being.

“Oblivion” is a slimy, curdling muck of sound, its cadence comparable to that of a mammoth on heroin. By far the longest song on the album, it towers over its companions at a whopping four minutes. “It is the last and heaviest song on the record,” Secret Cutter commented to Invisible Oranges. “Musically, the song was written as a funeral march. The song addresses taking the wrong path ‘til the end, caused by self-delusion and trusting the wrong people.” The despair is solidified by Ekim’s vocals, piercing through the grit with intensity and rage. Listen below, but make sure you’ve checked the foundation of whatever building you’re in — City Brew is in ruins as we speak.

Quantum Eraser will be released on July 6, with digital pre-orders available on Bandcamp, and vinyl via Deathwish Inc in North America and Holy Roar Records everywhere else.
