Drummer Cato Bekkevold Quits Enslaved
Bittersweet news: Cato Bekkevold, who has been Enslaved’s drummer since 2003, has quit the band.
The “sweet” part of the news is that Bekkevold is parting ways with Enslaved on amicable terms, citing both a desire to spend more time with his daughter and the physical toll of playing black metal at age fifty as the reasons for his departure.
The “bitter” part of the news, of course, is that Bekkevold is a very talented guy who played on a lot of Enslaved’s best albums.
You can watch Bekkevold’s announcement via the below video. We’ll let you know when Enslaved announce a successor.
