Bad Wolves Donate $250,000 to the Family of The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan
Bad Wolves, who have skyrocketed to stardom on the strength of their cover of The Cranberries’ classic hit “Zombie,” have made good on their promise to donate proceeds from the track to the family of Dolores O’Riordan, who committed suicide the day she was scheduled to record vocals on the track with Bad Wolves.
Before the band’s nearly sold out show last night at The Gramercy Theater in New York, Bad Wolves invited Dolores’s family on stage and presented them with a giant check for $250,000. The emotional moment was captured on video, which you can watch below.
I had the privilege of being in the room, and it was really something — emotions running high, and huge hearts from the guys in Bad Wolves. It’s hard to call this a silver lining given the tragic nature of O’Riordan’s passing, but at least something positive has come of it.
