Oops, Craft Did it “Again”
The new Craft song, “Again,” is a terrific example of how metal can be awesome and unintentionally hilarious at the same time. The song is built on the kind of menacing riff that demands head bobbing from the listener, and around the 2:00 mark, the leads take on a swirling, psychedelic quality that gives the track the anxious feeling of a metaphysical crisis.
But also, Nox, the band’s vocalist, sounds like a Muppet. And from 3:19-3:29, he does nothing but say the name of the song repeatedly, like an old man babbling in an assisted living facility. If you told me it was the internal monologue of my dog when we play catch, I’d believe you.
So, like I said: great song, but also a pretty funny one.
You can listen to Craft’s “Again” o’er and o’er and o’er again, again and again and again and again and again, below. The song will appear on the band’s new album, White Noise and Black Metal, which comes out June 22.
