System of a Down’s Daron Malakian Debuts Another New Song from Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway Featuring Daron Malakian

Did you enjoy “Lives,” the first single released by System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian’s newly rebooted Scars on Broadway — now known as Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway? Well, good news: Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway featuring System of a Down’s Daron Malakian have now released another new song! It’s called “Dictator” and you can listen to it below.

I echo Axl’s assessment that you can really hear the System of a Down in the music this time around. With Serj Tankian’s vocals added on top this track would absolutely cut the mustard as a new SoaD song, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that: while Serj and Daron continue to feud over the band’s creative direction, this is the next best thing we’ve got. And while Serj’s flair is certainly missing, “Dictator” is still a pretty damn catchy and fun tune.

The new album will be called Dictator and will come out on July 20th; pre-order here. The bulk of the songs on it were reportedly tracked back in 2012.
