Dude Kicked out Slayer Show Attempts to Swim His Way Back into the Venue

How far would you be willing to go to see Slayer perform one last time?

It sounds like the tagline for a bad movie — Detroit Thrash City. But it’s a question one fan had to seriously ask himself after being ejected from Slayer’s farewell tour when it played Toronto’s Budweiser Stage this past Tuesday, May 29. And, presumably after some deep soul searching, he found his answer: he was willing to go as far as he could swim.

See, the venue, according to The PRP, “is located on an island of sorts.” And so the unidentified fan thought he might be able to swim his way back into the venue. He was not, as documented by the below series of Instagram posts from Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, but you have to admire his pluck (in-between bouts of laughing at him, of course).

Of course, it’s worth noting that he’s rocking an Anthrax shirt, so maybe he didn’t even care about seeing Slayer. In any case, hopefully he’s now taken some solace in the fact that Scott Ian made him famous.

Slayer’s farewell tour, which also features Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament, and either Behemoth (through June 20) or Napalm Death (starting July 26), continues tomorrow in Connecticut. Remaining dates are below. Make an effort to walk through the venue gates like a normal person.
