Ghost Call Out Rihanna For Dressing Like Papa Emeritus at Met Gala
Thankfully I have MetalGF to tell me about things like the Met Gala or else I’d probably have thought the annual high fashion event in NYC last night was an art exhibit in tribute to the greatest Mets moments of all time. An art show featuring abstract depictions of great Mets moments such as Endy’s great catch and Mookie Wilson’s infamous Game 6 squibber? Sign me up!
Alas, Rihanna showed up to the actual Met Gala last night in full papal attire, prompting Ghost to call her out on Twitter for taking inspiration from their now “deceased” former frontman Papa Emeritus. While the resemblance is certainly strong, it’s not as if Ghost invented the image — Papa Emeritus was inspired by the Pope, duh! Still, it’s be reasonable to question Rihanna’s inspiration given her past affinity for sporting metal looks and Ghost’s current high visibility and popularity due to their upcoming new album Prequelle. In any case, I think Rihanna’s look here is dope!
Check out Ghost’s tweet, including video of Rihanna in her Papal-inspired Met Gala garb, below. Ghost are on tour now; get dates here.
