Sleep Will Surprise-Release New Album The Sciences Tomorrow, 4/20!!
It has been nearly twenty years since Sleep released their last album, the iconic Dopesmoker, in 1999. The band’s been back together and performing live for the past several years, and though they said they were in the studio and hinted at the arrival of new music, that was over a year ago already.
Now, finally, your draught of dankness ends: Apple Music has posted a preview page of what looks to be a new album called The Sciences, set to drop when else but tomorrow, April 20th, the celebratory holiday of dopesmokers the world over. The album will come out on Third Man Records (owned by Jack White), and will also be available on iTunes. We haven’t yet found any evidence of a physical release, but don’t rule it out.
You can view the Apple Music listing here, where you can also listen to 90-second samples of each of the album’s six tracks. We’ve posted a screen shot below in case someone screwed the pooch by posting a day early and it gets yanked. Track titles include “Marijuanaut’s Theme” and “Giza Butler,” so rest assured knowing Sleep haven’t lost any of their ganja-filtered edge.
NEW SLEEP! Get stoked! Errrr… smoked!
Thanks to loyal MetalSucks tipster Ranpal C. for sending this one in.
