Master of Puppets: Now Jazzified!
The guy responsible for such abominations as the radio Disney version of Bloodbath’s “Eaten” and the death metal cover of ”Jolene,” Andy Rehfeldt, has now graced us with his jazzy rendition of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” from the 1986 album of the same name. This one’s perfect for lounging around on a Saturday night sipping cognac; your colleagues will be thoroughly impressed by your tastefulness!
I’m probably going to get fired for saying this, but my only complaint is the fact that while the instrumentation in Rehfeldt’s version is six hundred times better than the original, the song still features James Hetfield’s vocals, which means it still sounds like Metallica, which means it sucks. It’s a shame, because this one could have been a real winner in my books if it weren’t for my disdain towards Metallica. Oh well. You should still check it out, though. It’s actually pretty catchy; just pretend that Hetfield’s screeching is instead a smooth jazz scattin’ cat. Zippity do bop skaaaa.
