Jason Richardson’s New Song “Tendinitis” Will Give Your Hands Just That

0

Jason Richardson is really a very, superbly, extremely and wonderfully talented fella. I always kinda wrote him off because he was once in Chelsea Grin [and Born of Osiris, who I can tolerate], but damn, the dude can play. I first had the revelation when I saw him perform a demo at the Music Man / Ernie Ball booth at NAMM one year, after which I dove into his solo material… and yeah, super legit.

So: Jason’s got a brand new track out called “Tendinitis,” which we can only infer is a reference to the state anyone’s hands will be in if they attempt to play it. Judging by the accompanying video, Richardson’s been performing this one live for some time — along with The Word Alive drummer Luke Holland, who plays on the track as well — so maybe it’s not completely new to Jason’s superfans, but it’s new to me. What’s most impressive to me is that beyond Jason’s very obvious technical skills the guy is also a nuanced composer; in other words, he can write memorable songs.

“Tendinitis” is the first track Jason has written for his next album, which he says “is going to be far beyond what anyone is expecting.” As usual he’s made guitar tabs, drum tones and guitar tones available for purchase, the links for which you can find in the YouTube video description.
